Summer Science Discovery for Teachers

Technology Integration to Enhance Student Learning in Science Classrooms (grades 5–8)

July 21 – August 1, 2008

Engage in hands-on activities that will provide content instruction for the teaching of science using technology-enhanced, inquiry-based lessons.

Teachers will learn how to integrate technology applications such as probeware for data collection and video capture, online concept mapping tools, computer simulations and Java applets, along with various multimedia applications, to enhance hands-on activities in your classroom.

Develop lesson plans and activities for integrating these technologies into existing curricula. During the academic year, teachers will implement and evaluate these lessons with the help of project staff. Priority will be given to teachers on the White Earth Reservation.

Use probeware, concept maps, computer simulations, Java applets and other technology tools in your classroom.
