Minnesota Master Naturalist is offering a class specifically designed for teachers.
If you haven’t heard, the Minnesota Master Naturalist Program is a volunteer program that teaches adults about Minnesota’s natural resources, empowers them to educate others, and provides opportunities to do conservation projects. The mission of the Minnesota Master Naturalist Program is to promote awareness, understanding, and stewardship of Minnesota’s natural environment by developing a corps of well-informed citizens dedicated to conservation education and service within their communities.
In this weeklong version of the class, you will have a chance to learn about the Big Woods, Big Rivers biome of Minnesota. The course will cover the basics of geology, ecology, wildlife, plants, aquatic ecosystems, and culture. Each day will include both classroom and field experiences. Graduates are asked to complete 40 hours of volunteer service upon completion of the class. Consequently, you will be surrounded by Master Naturalists Volunteers who want to volunteer and they may even want to volunteer in your classroom and at your school!
